A therapeutic program with potential for a range of autoimmune diseases
Immune mediated diseases, such as GvHD, autoimmune diseases and allergic diseases, are a result of imbalance between T effector cells and T regulatory cells. T-reg therapy represents a novel approach for restoring immune balance by enhancing T-regulatory cell number and function. Athelos is a T-cell therapeutic, 80% NeoStem owned through PCT (20% owned by Becton Dickinson). Phase I work is ongoing globally under several independent physician INDs, results of which will guide NeoStem’s future clinical direction.
