In January 2011, NeoStem completed the acquisition of Progenitor Cell Therapy (PCT), a CMO (contract manufacturing organization) with manufacturing, regulatory, and commercialization expertise for therapeutics development. This event added market-leading manufacturing and regulatory expertise as well as proprietary therapeutics to NeoStem’s portfolio.

PCT has East Coast and West Coast cGMP manufacturing facilities. This offers an attractive footprint for CMO clients and NeoStem’s own development needs. They PCT currently boasts a “who’s who” list of the cell therapy industry’s top clients and developed the manufacturing process for Dendreon Inc.’s Provenge cell therapy.

PCT founded Athelos (Neostem’s 80% owned T regulatory cell programs) and Amorcyte (NeoStem’s 100% owned AMI and CHF programs), and will continue to provide manufacturing and process development for both of these assets.
